The 4-Step IBS Programme Timeline
1
Initial Consultation
Initial consultation where we go through your medical history, symptom patterns and what you have tried previously. I will assess how your lifestyle and stress impacts your gut health. You will be asked to complete a food diary which allows me to identify potential triggers for your symptoms.
2
Reduce
For the next 4-6 weeks you will be provided with a personal low-FODMAP approach to follow, whilst keeping a food diary for me to keep an eye on triggers and symptom improvement and completing a weekly check-in which I will provide feedback via video or email for.
3
Reintroduction
At this stage we would have another face to face Zoom consultation, prior to embarking on the next stage of reintroduction. By this stage we should be seeing some significant improvements in symptoms. This phase lasts 6-10 weeks and is about testing foods we may have removed in the previous step which are triggers for your IBS, to see which your gut can manage going forward.
4
Personalisation
The final step is personalising the plan to suit your lifestyle for the long term and getting you back to "normality". It is a stage where we will have more clarity in regard to what works for your gut and what doesn't, giving you the confidence to go forward with a better quality of life.
-
Do I work directly with you one to one?A: Yes, this is the only service where not only do you have initial 1:1 contact but continuous ongoing support from myself via face to face online coaching calls, video feedback and written communications via your app.
-
Do you provide meal plans?A: No. Although as a dietitian, I am registered to do so, experience and evidence shows meal plans simply do not work. A meal plan will tell you WHAT to eat and get you short term results but it won’t tell you HOW to eat or WHY that will benefit you. I want to get you to a point where you are fully self-dependent and do not need me or any other professional again. A meal plan will not do this. I provide Calorie and macro targets as well as detailed structure and advice on how to help you achieve these targets and your goals. I provide a person-centered approach which focuses on you as an individual, taking the advice and structure I provide, and making that fit into your lifestyle. This way, you learn how to eat in a way that benefits your health and understand what you need to do to do this at any stage in life.
-
Can I try coaching for one month to test it out?A: Yes, however, a big part of my coaching programme is about learning new skills and building healthy habits and one month isn’t long enough to implement these positive changes. My advice is you can choose to work with me for as little or as long as you want, however, a 3-month commitment is the minimum I would recommend to see genuine changes, both physically and behaviourally. There is also a financial benefit to committing to a minimum of 3 or 6 months of coaching, with savings up to £50 per month.
-
How will you coach me as well as keep me accountable and motivated?A: As a 1:1 client you will have unlimited messaging access through your app, which I encourage you to use, especially when you have questions you want clarifying or feel overwhelmed or demotivated. I will also be providing weekly video or written feedback from your check-ins, weekly written communication in the form of habits/focusses for the week ahead and every 4 weeks, we will have a face to face coaching catch-up via Zoom which is a great time to ask more in depth questions or for problem solving.
-
How does pricing work?A: Coaching is priced on a monthly basis. The cost per month depends on the minimum commitment made by yourself. On a month to month basis it is £150 per month, for a minimum of 3-months coaching it is £125 per month and 6-months or more is £100 per month. Initial payment is taken after you complete your sign up form. It will ask you for card details for the bank account you want the monthly payment to come from. Stripe is the payment processor, they handle your card details securely and are used by over 100,000 businesses across every industry. There's a very good chance you've paid for something through Stripe already. You can check out their privacy policy here.
-
When I feel ready to go it alone, how do I stop my coaching membership with yourself? When it comes to you wanting to finish working with myself, all you need to do is let me know and give me a minimum of 2 weeks notice. You will then receive an email with confirmation that your membership will stop at the end of the current month you have paid for and that no further payments will be taken. Please remember, if you have committed to a minimum of 3 or 6-months, you will not be able to cancel before this time period.
-
Can I get a refund?A: No. Once you have commenced coaching, once a payment has been made you will not be able to get a refund for that month.
